Years ago, the N-634 supported all the traffic, but now with the A-8 highway, the traffic of the N-634 is much smaller. The two itineraries get together to cross the Eo estuary by the bridge and get to Ribadeo. -Here we continue the coastal way to Tapia de Casariego. -The official one goes through Tol (+ 7.5km, pilgrims hostel) and also has another fork with the option to follow the historic path to Vegadeo, to surround the estuary, instead of heading to Ribadeo. Years ago the only possibility of crossing the estuary was by boat. From Tol it continues to Barres (+4km, bar), Figueras (+1,7km, bars, shops, etc) and Ribadeo (+2,5km) -The historic itinerary goes to Tol (+7,5km, pilgrims hostel) and continue to Vegadeo (+13km, pilgrims hostel, bars, groceries, etc).
